On the day of the above-mentioned McCall/Deats Sunday afternoon 3:00 recital, TCA’s first president, David Cromer, did not arrive at the concert in time to give the opening remarks. We sent police to check on him, and he was found dead in his home. This sad loss was announced at the end of the recital, and a lovely final encore was played in memory of him. Vice President Phil Cooper would then take over as President.
